Annual Geranium Sale to be Held
Zonta Club of Fort Smith will hold its annual geranium sale on Saturday, April 14, from 8:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Sagely & Edwards, 3101 Rogers Avenue. Purchase red, white, salmon, or pink geraniums or giant yellow marigolds for $1.50 a plant or $27.00 for a flat. In addition to getting beautiful flowers, your purhcases will support service projects that advance the status of women worldwide and locally. Currently , some of the local projects include scholarships to UAFS and the Single Parent Scholarship, the Girls Shelter, the Crisis Intervention Center, Girls State, and the Esther Home. 64th District 10 Conference Held in Fort Smith
Zonta Club of Fort Smith hosted the 64th District 10 Conference in Fort Smith on October 20-23 with out-of-state attendees from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisianna, California, and Sweden. Having the theme “Live the History,” members enjoyed a fun-filled welcome with a Southern hat contest, informative business sessions, a wonderfully entertaining Friday night event, and a beautiful awards finale.
Zonta International began in Buffalo, New York, in 1919 with five women. Today, Zonta has more than 33,000 members in over 1200 clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas. The headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois.
Zonta Club of Fort Smith was chartered April 24, 1967. In its forty-four year history, Zonta Club of Fort Smith has supported projects that advance the status of women both locally and internationally.
